Our 90 bed nursing home offers a full range of programs and services to meet the individual needs of our residents. We strive to maintain and enhance each resident’s level of function and ability, way of life, and dignity. 

 

We are devoted to meeting all of our resident’s physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs in a home like atmosphere.

 

All of our care is provided by licensed and certified nursing personnel, therapists and physicians.

Specialty Unit

The Horizon Unit is a 16 bed specialized unit for those suffering from Alzheimer’s or Dementia. This unit has a unique setup with a large activity/dining room area where residents can socialize with one another while participating in daily activities. Our unit is equipped with a delayed egress locking system for residents who may wander which provides additional safety and security measures for our residents.

Respite Care

Respite care is short term, temporary care provided for the elderly or individual with special needs. Loved ones can take a break from daily care giving and the stress of caring for a loved one who needs 24 hour care.

Palliative Care

The caring professional team of physician, nursing staff, social services, and clergy focus on the treatment of pain, discomfort and stress at the end of life.  Support services for both the resident and their loved ones is provided by Social Services and the facility’s clergy.

Residential Care Center

For those who need a helping hand, the 33 bed Residential Care Center is a licensed personal care facility offering seniors a housing alternative while emphasizing self-determination and maximum independence. Residents receive 24 hour assistance, support and supervision. A wide variety of activities are offered to residents relating to their individual interests and abilities.  We offer respite care and short term stays.  Our rooms include private, semi-private and 3 person wards.

Cottage Units

Did you know the Lutheran Home at Kane is more than just a nursing home?  The Lutheran Home is a CCRC – A Continuum of Care Retirement Community.  The facility focuses on caring for individuals throughout the aging process.  Not only do we offer a 90 bed nursing home and 33 bed personal care facility, but we also have 6 independent living cottages. 

LHK’s cottage residents have the luxury of independent living without the hassle.  Individuals living in the cottages have the freedom to come and go as they please but do not have the daunting tasks of mowing grass, shoveling snow, pruning trees, and so much more. 

Our cottages are two bedroom homes with a large kitchen, living room, bath and a garage.  Nestled on a quiet side street not far from town, the location is not only convenient, but also offers a beautiful environment with private back yards and quaint porches.
