WELCOME:
On behalf of the entire staff, we welcome you and your family to Kane’s Intergenerational Daycare Service (K.I.D.S.).
Our day care program serves children under the age of 12 providing excellent care and a quality learning environment. Our intergenerational program provides frequent interaction between the children and the residents of the Lutheran Home. Our focus is to promote a positive outlook on social diversity for the children and a higher quality of life for the residents of our facility.
In 2006, our day care facility became participants in the Keystone Stars program. This program focuses on improving the quality through standards, training/professional development, assistance, resources and support. The Keystone Stars Performance Standards provide the foundation for our program.
All children need to feel comfortable and secure as they learn and become successful in their transitions through life. But, not all children learn in the same way. Teachers and staff at K.I.D.S. help children feel successful by supporting individual differences and helping each child discover his or her own learning capacity and style. Each child is encouraged to take initiative, to try new things and to show persistence in their individual developments.
Open communication between parent(s)/guardian(s) and staff is essential in meeting the needs of your child. In doing so, the following handbook was designed to share important information about our policies and services. Please contact us with questions or comments regarding any information in the handbook.
We are looking forward to caring for your child, as he or she becomes part of our “extended” family. We thank you for sharing your family with us.
